FIRST OFF.....WHAT IS AN IV?

IV is short for intravenous, or in other words in your vein. We provide hydration by use of a small catheter that we place directly into your vein. This allows us to hydrate you quicker and more efficiently than if you were to simply drink water orally. Yes, this does mean that we will be poking you with a needle. It is a small needle, and a relatively small poke. Once we access your vein, the needle comes out and a plastic catheter is left in place in order to administer the fluid.

WHY CHOOSE IV HYDRATION OVER ORAL HYDRATION?

We are both firm believers that hydration via oral intake is vital. Our services are meant to help supplement your recovery process, they are not meant to replace oral hydration. That being said, IV hydration is effective much quicker than hydration via oral route and that is what we want to provide. A quicker way to help your body recover so you can get on your way.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

As with any invasive procedure there are always risks.

Our employees have been trained to provide IV services in a way that minimizes the risk of infection to the IV site.

That being said, we are not liable for any infection that may occur. We provide our customers with the knowledge on how to treat the IV site post infusion and it is up to the customer to follow these instructions.

We are also not repsonsible for any medical issues that may arise from using our services. A release form is filled out prior to an IV and it is up to the customer to fill this out truthfully so as to avoid any possible complications.

Top Shelf Hydration is NOT meant for medical emergencies. We are a supplemental service. If you are having a medical emergency please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for help.

  HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

The whole process will take about 30-45 minutes to complete. There is a few necessary forms to fill out prior to the infusion and a quick medical screening is done pre-infusion to insure our clients our safe.

That being said, sometimes it is necessary for our employees to use a smaller needle and this can prolong the time it takes for your fluid to infuse.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN INFUSION?

IV HYDRATION GUIDELINES

We will not provide our services to anyone under the age of 16 without first written consent from parent/guardian as well as an okay from our medical control doctor.

We recommend you research. We are here for our clients to help them recover faster and aid them in living a healthier lifestyle. That being said, we ask that athletes participating in our services check with the rules and regulations of their sport to assure that IV hydration is not banned or might disqualify them from participation in that particular sport.
